Elder Requests

Lane Harrison, Lead Pastor

  • The man: more love for Jesus, less love of Lane; more grace, less sin; more humility and repentant spirit, less pride; more Holy Spirit, less of Lane’s spirit; strength, wisdom, discernment, and discipline in all of life: spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional.
  • the husband: growing intimacy with Christin, that God will continue to shape me into a godly husband that fully provides for Christin in marriage. Pray for God's hedge of protection around our marriage, that sin and temptation would not drive a wedge between us. Pray that God would give us a deeper love for one another in intimacy, in life, and in ministry.
  • the father: growing godliness and grace in parenting. Pray that God will guard our family from attacks that will come from spiritual leadership. Pray that God will strengthen us to faithfully fulfill every call he places upon our life. Pray that God will grow our family in grace. Pray that God would fill us with grace as we parent Joshua and Bethany (Proverbs 22.6) and teach them to love and honor God in all of life (Deut. 6.4-9). Pray that Joshua and Bethany will continue to grow in wisdom and stature, in knowledge and fear of the Lord, in favor with God and men (Luke 2.40, 52). Pray that Joshua will find worth and respect in being a follower of Jesus, and not a follower of the world. Pray that Bethany would understand with faith and receive Jesus as Savior and Lord. Pray that she would develop a heart for God to fully surrender to him and that the qualities and character of a beautiful, godly woman would begin to develop in her young spirit. Pray that she will find security and cherishment in Jesus, and not in the world.
  • the pastor: grace to love the people of LifePoint more intimately, to understand the role of pastor more completely, and to faithfully fulfill all the obligations of my call to pastor; wisdom, discernment, faith, courage and boldness in all; clarify the vision of LifePoint as we faithfully move forward in following Christ's leading of the church; anointing, wisdom, discernment, courage and faith to act as I lead the mission of LifePoint as we plan, prepare, and work to re-locate to our new land and future facility; anointing to lead by the Spirit and favor with people to follow; guard my heart from temptations of leadership: ego, pride, self-exaltation, power, money, sex/lust, greed, fame; growth in my heart in humility, faith, grace, love, compassion, contentment, and accountability.

Dennis Smith, Worship Pastor

  • Pray for Sue and I to grow in intimacy with God and with each other. As we look forward to a week of vacation in July, may we have a great time together as a family.
  • Pray for us as parents. May God use us to raise Max up in godly discipline and love. Help me to model biblical manhood for Max.
  • Pray that Max will continue to stay healthy and develop as a strong little boy.
  • Pray for discernment in leading the worship ministry. Pray for guidance as I teach and model God-honoring worship. Pray that God will continue to bring gifted musicians to the team. Help me to shepherd and lead with love, wisdom, and boldness. Pray for my heart to be sensitive to God's voice, for protection from pride and selfish desires, and for wisdom to lead the ministry into new areas and structures.
  • Pray for the elders as we raise up and train new leaders. Pray for discernment to recognize the future leaders God has placed in the body of LifePoint. Pray for wisdom to mentor and train them as God desires.
  • Pray for the elders as we begin the capital campaign for the church relocation. This encompasses much more than a building program. Pray for wisdom and discernment as we make decisions which will impact the future of LPC.

  • For my and Summer's relationships with the Lord. Pray that he would continue to keep us locked in his Word, changing us, and revealing his will about what he wants to do in our lives. Pray our faith would be huge and be the source that moves us through life.
  • For our marriage to grow in intimacy and love as we adjust to life's changes. Pray that we would love each other selflessly and with much grace.
  • For our child to grow strong and healthy. Pray that we'll trust God's sovereignty and not worry.
  • For our leadership in the youth ministry. Pray that they'll follow God's leading and continue to change and challenge the students to be more dedicated and resolved to follow him.
  • For my work. Pray that I'll learn to better manage my time. Pray that God would show me what to change, pick up, put down, do different, etc. Pray that God would give me the resolve to do all for his glory.
  • For my mom and dad and step-mom. Mom and step-mom have cancer, and Dad simply needs to surrender all of himself to the Lord.
