Key Ministry Requests

Chris Austin, Director of Creative Communications

  • I'm in a spiritually dry part of my life right now. Pray that I cross paths with people that will hold me accountable to my spiritual disciplines and challenge me to grow in Christ.
  • My decisiveness as a leader in our home. An area I've been working on, but continue to struggle in, is making decisions. Pray that I will have the confidence and boldness of Christ to be decisive when necessary, but not oblivious to the needs and desires of Sarah and those around me.
  • That I continue to grow as a financial steward. God is opening up new opportunities for Sarah and I to give. Pray we will be obedient. Pray also that we will continue to grow in the managing of our finances as we continue through Financial Peace.
  • God's timing for Sarah and I to be parents. Sarah and I are still not planning to start a family at the moment, but we continue to pray for wisdom and faithfulness (and patience) when he opens the door. We pray for his perfect timing, but also for the opportunity for us to fulfill the things we need to fulfill in the interim.
  • Work. I'm most thankful for a wonderful job and employers who take great care of me. Work is going so well, I'm starting to get overwhelmed by all the projects that are backing up. Pray for wisdom in the decisions my employers need to make in staffing as well as maintaining our workload. Pray that I will continue to serve my bosses in whatever way I can, but to also realize my limits and acknowledge those as appropriate.
  • Leadership. I still have much room to grow. Pray I will learn to lead and not just manage those entrusted to me.
  • Volunteers. I'm thankful for growth this last year in the three areas I oversee, but we continue to need more volunteers, especially as many of my current ones are being called to the international mission field. Pray people will be sensitive to God's calling of service and that I will cross paths with those he has charged with service in Creative Communications.
  • My team. Pray for Stephen Hill, Amy Hill, and Sarah Austin. They are a great team; I couldn't do ministry without leaders like that. Pray their time and energy is rationed appropriately for all they are responsible for, both within and outside the ministry. Pray their leadership grows as I work to disciple them.
  • Our attitude of service. Pray we as a ministry continue to serve the needs of LifePoint and look for needs to address within our community and circles of influence. It is our desire to begin moving beyond the perimeter of the church and start impacting our culture more on the front lines. Pray we will be sensitive to what that looks like from Christ's point of view.

  • For my pursuit of Christ. Pray that I will desire communion with him daily, both in prayer and in the Word. Pray that he will continue to teach me what it means for my life to be kingdom focused.
  • For my marriage. We're celebrating our three-year anniversary next week, and God has been so gracious in allowing us to survive marriage this long. Pray that we'll continue to form a stronger bond to one another and to Christ every day.
  • For my time management. I have a lot of balls in the air right now: personal projects, professional projects, and training. Pray that I'll have the discipline to use my time wisely.
  • For my triathlon training. I've committed to racing a sprint triathlon in August. Pray that I'll have the discipline to eat and sleep right. Pray that my swimming endurance will increase. Pray that my body and mind stay healthy this summer.
